More on what we offer

Biotechnology Business Development Centre

The Biotechnology Business Development Centre (BBDC) is an impressive site of innovation in Edmonton. Entrepreneurs and innovators can lease from the BBDC’s 72,000 square feet of space, which includes wet labs, office areas, and a variety of meeting rooms. Researching and developing new drugs, or medical products requires suitable working conditions – and the BBDC has the resources that innovators need.

Wet Labs

The BBDC offers a selection of specialized wet labs for lease. All labs include heat, water, gas, vacuum, and compressed air systems. So, when entrepreneurs are developing the next cutting-edge life science innovation, they will be doing it in Edmonton’s best available biotechnology incubation space.

Office Space

The office space at the BBDC is perfect for startups and life sciences scaleups. Due to its flexible and accommodating nature, entrepreneurs can easily find the office space best suited to them and their team’s needs. Tenants have access to private and semi-private offices, as well as common kitchen and lounge areas.

Meeting Rooms

Entrepreneurs can select from a variety of meeting rooms. All meeting rooms have video conferencing equipment and presentation capabilities so innovators make important phone calls, hold team meetings, or pitch ideas easily. Tenants can book meeting rooms to ensure their meetings and presentations are private and well-organized.

Critical Medicines Production Centre (coming soon!)

As part of the Canadian Critical Drug Initiative, the Edmonton Research Park is proud to soon welcome the Critical Medicines Production Centre (CMPC). The CMPC will help strengthen the life sciences ecosystem by providing Canada’s largest and best-equipped facility of its kind. Once complete, the CMPC will be over 83,000 square feet and capable of producing upwards of 70 million doses of traditional and biologic drugs per year, acting as a key component in addressing drug shortages and pandemic needs for Canadians.
