An entrance to the Park

As the Edmonton Research Park emerged in the 1980s, it was designed with specific siting and landscaping guidelines to preserve its natural beauty. The Advanced Technology Centre was build within these considerations and marked the entrance to the ERP.

A Climate Responsive Environment

The design of the building reflects the concept of “building as landscape,” seamlessly integrating with the surrounding prairie. By creating a sunken structure with a green roof, the facility connects with its natural setting. The two subterranean floors provide shelter from harsh winds, while a central skylight invites natural light into a communal area lined with tenant spaces.

A Dynamic Space for Innovation

The Advanced Technology Centre serves as a versatile hub for technology entrepreneurs. As a business incubator, it offers tenants the option to lease various amounts of space, including single workstations. Flexibility in space design is a key aspect, allowing for easy and cost-effective modifications to accommodate tenants’ needs.
